WHO IS THIS FOR?

This service is for active home buyers who would like a trained architect to accompany them on home tours in order to help evaluate a house’s quality and / or potential for renovation. In this fast-paced housing market, let us expedite your decision-making process!

A trained architect can see past nice furniture and fresh paint to spot potential strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities of a house. We can let you know if it has “good bones,” good light, good drainage, appropriate sizing to your needs, and more. We can also sketch out renovation and addition ideas while on site.

WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THIS PRODUCT?

1. (Optional) 1-hour pre-tour video meeting / phone call:

• We learn your basic space needs, number of home inhabitants, the location of the property you are considering, and any other information pertinent to your decision-making process.

• In an ideal world, we’d have this talk before going on the tour, so we can dedicate all our tour time to evaluating and designing for you. But we know time can be tight, so we can do this on-site or over email.

2. Home tour:

• We accompany you to an open house or private home showing, walking the entire property with you, discussing the spaces as we move through them.

• We take field measurements as appropriate.

3. On-site sketches of possible renovation options:

• We do one or more quick on-site sketches of ways the home might be renovated / expanded, or new freestanding buildings built on the property.

4. Site photography:

• With owner permission, we can take digital photos of the house as desired by you, then email them to you for download within 24 hours.
